As many of you know the Municipal Police Training Committee and representatives from the regional police academies have been working diligently for months now revamping the Basic Reserve Intermittent Training Program. The old standard of 345 hours has been scrapped and the new program has been increased to 372.5 hours with an additional 56 hours of firearms instruction. Additionally, uniforms are now mandatory and you will find the program more 
structured, more professional, and far more comprehensive. Our goal is to provide the reserve officer with all the tools necessary to effectively and safely perform the police function within his or her community.

In spite of unusually strong interest in our next Basic Reserve Intermittent Training Course, it has not translated into sufficient applications to allow us to run the class. At end of business on Monday, 9/28/20 we will post on this site our decision.
